Preserving History. Honoring Ancestors. Empowering Communities.

Established in Grand Coteau, Louisiana, JSHDA exists to honor the enslaved men, women, and children linked to the 1838 Jesuit slave sale. We research genealogies, preserve family histories, and advocate for descendants, fostering a connection between past and present through education and community support.

Join Our Efforts to Preserve Legacy

Engage with our work by participating in genealogical research, educational programs, and community advocacy. Together, we continue to illuminate the stories and heritage of those whose histories have too often been overlooked.
